POTD: Heckler & Koch MR223 and Aimpoint CompM5s

Plinking steel with a Heckler & Koch MR223 and the new Aimpoint CompM5s is a dream – both eyes open of course! That’s the topic in our Photo Of The Day.

Launched in 2019 the CompM5s is one of the newer red dots from Aimpoint, but has been difficult to source. I had to wait quite a long time for mine.

The sight comes standard with flip-up lens covers, the front lens cover is black and the rear one is transparent.

The M5s has a low right AAA battery compartment, and the illumination is compatible with night vision devices. There are 4 NVD settings and 6 daylight settings.

The mount in the picture below is the Spuhr SM-1900 (€75) which gives you a height of 22 mm/0.866″, in relation to the Aimpoint Quick-Attach mount shown above. Which one would you prefer?

So far I’m happy with my CompM5s, the 2 MOA dot is one of the best I’ve seen. Did you try one yet?
