Timnney Triggers is offering 10 lucky people the chance to become beta testers for its latest offering. Timney Triggers is offering up a replacement trigger for Heckler & Koch and PTR HK91-type rifle platforms. The HK91 Replacement Trigger looks to be a drop-in style trigger as with many of Timney’s triggers so installation should be easy and function should be on the same level after beta testing.
Become a Beta Tester for the Timney Triggers HK91 Replacement Trigger
All you need to do in order to sign up to become a beta tester is your e-mail address, name, address, and what specific manufacturer you’re intending to put the trigger into. Currently, Timney is only offering these 10 samples with intended compatibility with the H&K 91 as well as the PTR-91. The PTR rifles are said to be 95% parts compatible with the HK rifles.
The PTR-91 is PTR’s original flagship firearm, functionally a clone of the wildly successful HK91 and G3 rifle series that was first devised by Heckler & Koch in the 1950s. While the HK91 remains true to its roots, the PTR adds some modern upgrades to the series of rifle such as different barrel lengths, multiple caliber selections, and different furniture styles.
Timney Triggers was founded on the need for easy-to-install, single-stage triggers for shooting enthusiasts sporterizing military rifles in the post-WWII era. Allen built triggers for bolt-action rifles such as Mausers, Springfields, and Enfields, and Timney quickly became known as the aftermarket trigger company for bolt-action rifles. Currently, Timney triggers offer over 170 models of triggers for bolt action rifles, shotguns, AR-style rifles, and many other semi-automatic rifles such as the PTR-91 and HK91 rifles.
As a final thought for this announcement, I am curious as to whether or not this will be compatible with MP5 style firearms. H&K, PTR, and Zenith all make MP5 style guns or clones and the announcement of this trigger came paired with an image of a PTR 9CT. If it’s compatible, this would make a great case for running an MP5 as a competition gun.
