POTD: Task Force Guardian – Night Observation

Some say that TFB’s Photo Of The Day is as important in their daily routine as drinking lots of coffee. We at TFB certainly hope that is the case. Today we travel far-far away to Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti. Above you can see a U.S. Army sniper adjusting a PVS-30 on his M110 Sniper Rifle in preparation for sniper training.

The training is focused on night observation techniques that facilitate battlefield intelligence gathering for commanders.

Lots of gear to keep track of, day and night.

Night Vision and GPS navigation are important parts of the process.
