The NEW Heckler & Koch SP5K-PDW: The Best Civilian Version of the MP5?
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reveals the H&K SP5K-PDW. The SP5K-PDW is, essentially, a civilian version of the H&K MP5K-PDW, which is, itself, an improved version of the H&K MP5K, which in turn is a shortened version of the H&K MP5. In other words, the SP5K-PDW is a shortened civilian version of the MP5, but, unlike the H&K SP5K or the MP5K, the PDW comes with all of the features we wanted from H&K, including a combo threaded/tri-lug barrel, paddle mag release, ability to easily add a stock or brace – and it’s made in Germany, from the same assembly line as H&K’s military and law enforcement contract guns. Best civilian MP5 is the one that fell off a military truck or was misplaced out of a police car.
I would dearly love to have one of these, even if just a semi-auto only. I was fortunate enough that an HK Rep. came to our Police Department in the late 70's as displayed a number of HK's to those of us at the range and who were on the Pistol Team. I got to shoot the HK MP5 and loved it! Of course I loved the HK 3 or GSP3, I can't remember 50 years ago anymore, but they were all sweet firearms. Still, $2799 is STILL way too much for my old pocketbook to afford.
