SIG Sauer Introduces the P938 SAS

    P938 SAS (SIG Sauer)

SIG Sauer introduced the P365 SAS back in 2019, coupling their super popular compact 9mm with their SIG Anti-Snag FT Bullseye sight. SIG have now used the same technology on the 9mm P938 SAS, SIG say the new “P938 SAS Micro-Compact has undergone a radical dehorning process resulting in an ultra smooth, snag free profile that’s ideal for concealed carry.”

Pete took a look at the P365 SAS when it first appears and so has James at TFBtv, check out their reviews. Compared to the P365 SAS the new pistol does not have a ported barrel and slide to help reduce muzzle flip, it has a 7 round, rather than 10 round magazine but it is about an ounce lighter. If you’re a fan of the 1911’s feel and controls then the P938 might be worth a look.

Here’s what SIG Sauer has to say about the new SAS pistol:

SIG SAUER, Inc. is pleased to introduce the P938 SAS (SIG Anti-Snag) pistol, bringing new innovation to this popular lightweight, micro-compact, concealed carry pistol.

“When we introduced the SAS technology with the P365 it was immensely popular, and the demand for this new technology in the concealed carry market was immediate. The SIG P938 is a very popular micro-compact pistol, so the addition of the SAS technology was a natural fit for this platform,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales. “Our proprietary SAS technology removes all the snag points from the pistol for a seamless draw. The integrated, flush-mounted FT Bullseye sight mounted directly into the slide is intuitive, and easy for the untrained eye to pick-up for fast target acquisition.”

The SIG SAUER P938 SAS is a 9mm, single action only (SAO), hammer-fired, alloy frame pistol with a Nitron finish. The pistol features the SIG Anti-Snag (SAS) technology slide treatment with a flush-mounted FT bullseye fiber-tritium night sight, an ambidextrous thumb safety, and ships with (1) 7-round magazine.

Here’s what SIG Sauer’s product page has to say about the new P938 SAS:

The P938 SAS Micro-Compact has undergone a radical dehorning process resulting in an ultra smooth, snag free profile that’s ideal for concealed carry. A single-action-only trigger, coupled with FT Bullseye Sight, the P938 handle like a much larger pistol, yet is still easy to carry concealed. With dimensions just slightly larger than its .380ACP counterpart, the P938 packs seven plus one rounds of 9mm into an all-metal frame and a Nitron coated stainless steel slide. The cocked-and-locked single-action trigger gives the P938 unmatched accuracy in a pistol its size. Fans of the 1911 will find the thumb safety, magazine release and slide stop lever in familiar places. An ambidextrous safety makes the P938 easy for left- and right-handed shooters.
