Parker Mountain Machine has developed two new muzzle devices (Comp Tracker and Sight Tracker) for H&K VP9 and P30 pistols. These products were specially designed for Heckler & Koch and will be available exclusively through the H&K Web Store. Let’s take a look at each of the new PMM/HK muzzle devices.
The PMM Sight Tracker is neither a muzzle brake nor a muzzle rise compensator as it has no ports to redirect the gases exiting the muzzle. What it is designed for is to provide an extended sight radius because the front sight can be mounted on the very front edge of the Sight Tracker. It’s kind of an alternative way of having a long slide pistol. So Sight Tracker is technically a muzzle device as it’s mounted to the barrel but it works as a slide/sight radius extension.
The PMM Comp Tracker does work as a muzzle brake and muzzle rise compensator thanks to the single top port. Particularly, H&K claims that Comp Tracker “will reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise on average of 30-35%“. The Comp Tracker also allows having a slightly extended sight radius because it features a front sight dovetail cut, too.
All four PMM muzzle devices for H&K pistols are made of 7075 aluminum and have a Type 3 Class 2 black hard coat anodized finish. To retrofit your VP9 or P30 pistol with these PMM muzzle devices you’ll need a threaded barrel. The Sight Tracker and Comp Tracker made for the VP9 are not compatible with VP9SK and VP40. The P30 muzzle devices are compatible only with the 9mm version of this pistol and won’t fit P30SK and P30L pistols.
The installation of these muzzle devices is done by screwing them onto the barrels and then timing them using the set of supplied shims. They also come with shim alignment and vise tools necessary for the proper installation. The installation procedure is shown in the following video.
