POTD: AH-64 Apache with 30mm M230 Chain Gun

Gravity pulls the empty shells from the 30 mm cannon to the ground, as an AH-64 Apache from A Company, 1-3rd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade engages targets downrange (2020). POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, is TFB’s recurring articles where we go to great length trying to find pictures and stories like this one.

The Apache crews were conducting individual as well as advanced tables where two ships cooperate to eliminate targets.

The 30 mm cannon is an M230 Chain Gun with 1,200 rounds on-board.

There are four pylon stations on the stub wings for a variety of weapons depending on the mission.
