Since opening its doors in 2010, Austin, Texas-based Silencer Shop has proven to be a key player in the recent explosion of the suppressor market. Their efforts and innovations have done as much or more to make suppressors accessible than anyone else in the game. This accessibility and increased demand can then, in turn, be credited in large part with the proliferation of more manufacturers producing a supply of cans of ever-increasing quality at all price points from affordable to extravagant. If you’d asked previous generations whether they thought silencers would reach current levels of popularity, it’s doubtful whether they would’ve believed it. Although things aren’t perfect, in all we still live in a pretty great time to shoot quietly. Continuing their work to bring suppressors to the people, Silencer Shop is preparing to co-host a demo event on July 18th at Texas Ordnance Depot in Hico, Texas. The “Summertime Silence” official event description reads:

A small sampling of cans that Silencer Shop deals in, some of which will likely be available to test at the event.

Summertime sadness seems to have set in way too early and there appears to be no end in sight. We’re gonna do our part to show people a good time. The Cross Timbers Region has never seen an event like this. This is your chance to get your ears on all of the great new products in the silencer industry. We will have several shooting lanes set up for people to come and shoot all types of suppressed firearms. Manufacturers representatives will be on site to answer all of your questions, and we have thousands of silencers available for purchase. We’re going to be as generous as possible with the ammo supply, but there will be a small fee for ammo to offset the cost of the event. Get here early and spend the day enjoying axe throwing, food, archery, dozens of suppressed firearms, and just a generally good time with family and friends. This will be a family friendly affair, bring the kids. The intent of this event is to increase awareness of silencers and to show folks the many joys and advantages of using them. If you have questions about silencers or the silencer industry, this is the perfect time to get your questions answered by the experts. Bring a chair and some sunscreen to enjoy our facility. Come spend a day with us enjoying the Summertime Silence.

While Silencer Shop and Texas Ordnance Depot have not indicated whether any toys as exceptional as a suppressed belt-fed will be available at Summertime Silence, one can dream!

You may also want to drop by Silencer Shop’s brick-and-mortar location in north Austin sometime, if you get a chance.
