Patriot Ordnance Factory, or POF-USA, started in Frank DeSomma’s garage in 2002. Over the last eighteen years he has grown the company to become an industry leader in piston-driven ARs and more. Tragically, on the way home from his office yesterday, June 18th, 2020, the 57-year-old entrepreneur and former aerospace engineer died in a car accident. Today, POF-USA shared the following message via their social media outlets.

DeSomma's patriotism was reflected in the brand he spent nearly two decades building.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should Thank God that such men lived.

According to the local Phoenix ABC affiliate, police are still investigating the one-car crash. ABC 15 Arizona has the following to report on the unfortunate event:

Phoenix police are investigating a deadly crash in north Phoenix.

Authorities say 57-year-old Frank DeSomma was driving a Jeep on Carefree Highway near Interstate 17 on Thursday evening when he went off the road and crashed.

A witness indicated that a red or orange car may have turned in front of the Jeep, causing DeSomma to swerve and lose control.

When the Jeep went off the road, it rolled over causing serious injuries to De Somma. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The driver of the car who might have swerved in front of the Jeep did not stay at the scene and police have not made contact with the driver.

    The investigation remains ongoing.

Anybody with information is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6141 or if they wish to remain anonymous call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.

Our deepest condolences go out to Mr. DeSomma’s family and friends, as well as his colleagues and employees at POF-USA, for this tragic loss.
