Taurus USA Releases the New G3c Compact 9mm Pistol

The G3c carries over all the upgrades that come with the rest of the 3rd generation G-series pistol. This includes their unique single-action trigger which has a restrike capability. The trigger is also designed with a flat face to concentrate finger pressure on the front of the shoe for a straighter pull which should allow for a shorter trigger reset and faster follow-up shots.

The G3c slide has also been fitted with both front and rear slide serrations, which may or may not be a feature some are looking for in a carry pistol. The G3c slide is treated with a Tenifer finish to reduce wear during unholstering and reholstering of this pistol and increase corrosion resistance.

The G3c will also come standard with a visual loaded chamber indicator instead of the previous mechanical indicator. This design reduces the overall amount of parts used in construction and streamlines the slide profile for better concealability.

Starting at an MSRP of $305.74, the Taurus G3c will come from the factory with either three 10-round magazines or three 12-round magazines where available. Taurus will also make available 15 and 17-round capacity magazines which can be purchased separately from Taurus.

I will be interested to see how this new compact 9mm pistol stacks up against other compact concealed carry options currently on the market. With a low price point and many nice features, this could be an attractive pistol for many trying to get their hands on a concealed carry piece. Time will tell.
