Seekins Precision has announced that their DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) rifle which was previously chambered only in .223 Wylde, is now also available in Hordany’s new cartridge, the 6mm ARC. Unlike its .223/556 siblings that are offered with shorter 16″ and 18″ barrels, the 6mm ARC Seekins Precision DMR is equipped with a 22″ barrel to allow squeezing maximum performance from this new 6mm cartridge.
Here is how Seekins Precision describes their DMR rifles:
The Dedicated Marksman Rifle (DMR) is Seekins’ do-it-all hammer. Designed for the rigorous and rough lifestyle of competition and duty use, this rifle Just. Won’t. Quit. This lower receiver offers ambidextrous controls maximizing efficient manipulation of the weapon from either side, while the proprietary upper receiver and handguard offer a rigid, stable platform for repeatable accuracy under any condition. NOW AVAILABLE in 6 semi-custom colors, make the DMR your “never quit” rifle!
The Seekins Precision 6mm ARC DMR rifles feature the company’s IRMT-3 upper receivers and SP223 lower receivers both of which are machined out of billet 7075-T6 aluminum. The rifles also come with 15″ SP3Rv3 M-LOK handguards, Seekins 10X-Ray stocks, single-stage 3-lb Timney triggers and Seekins low profile adjustable gas blocks. The barrels are made of 416R stainless steel, have 5R riflings with a 1:8 twist rate, are threaded with the standard AR-15 1/2×28 thread pitch and come equipped with Seekins ATC muzzle brake. The Seekins Precision DMR rifles are available in one of the following color options: Armorer Black, FDE, OD Green, Sniper Gray, Battle Worn FDE, Battle Worn OD Green. The overall weight of the rifle is 8.2 lbs.
The industry support of the 6mm ARC cartridge is quite impressive. Right now there are at least a dozen companies that already offer complete firearms or parts designed for this cartridge. Besides Seekins Precision, 6mm ARC products are currently made by San Tan Tactical, Proof Research, CMMG, CMC Triggers, Brownells, Ballistic Advantage, Faxon Firearms, and I am sure more companies will soon jump on the bandwagon.
