Photo Of The Day – We take a look at a JP Enterprises (JP Rifles) with the brand new Pulsar TRAIL 2 LRF XP50 thermal imaging sight with a laser rangefinder. The rifle is Cerakoted in white and has an Urban Digital pattern. The rifle is chambered in .223 Remington and has a 14.5″ barrel with a pinned compensator for 16″ OAL. It’s the opposite of blending in on the green grass.

The Trail 2 LRF has a long detection range of up to 1800 meters.

The housing is in magnesium to bring the overall weigh down. It weighs less than it looks, about 800 grams (28 oz).

A closer look at the sensor and the laser rangefinder. The new sensor is more sensitive than ever: thermal imaging detector with <40 mK NETD.

The sensor is displayed to the shooter with an HD AMOLED microdisplay, so the image is very crisp. Note that there are two animals in the picture below (also note, the Trail 2 was not mounted to a firearm at the occasion as that could be considered as illegal hunting). Distance, about 10-12 meters in the darkness.

The Thermion XP50 and Trail 2 XP50 share the same <40mk sensor and eye displays, so the image would be identical.
