Umarex has added an airsoft Glock 45 pistol to their line of Glock airguns that were first introduced in September of 2017. Back then, Glock for the first time officially licensed the manufacturing of airsoft replicas of their pistols. Let’s see what features the new Umarex Glock 45 packs.
The new airsoft G45 is added to the company’s Gas Airsoft product line. Unlike the airguns of the Umarex CO2 Airsoft and CO2 BB Gun series, pistols in Gas Airsoft line are designed to resemble their real counterparts as closely as possible. Not only the Gas Airsoft Umarex Glocks are identical to the real guns in terms of the dimensions and weight, but they also have a similar disassembly process, blowback slides that reciprocate when firing creating an imitation of a cycling slide, and magazines shaped like the real ones. All these features make the Gas Airsoft line of Umarex pistols ideal for using as training tools providing a feel identical to the real gun when practicing presentations, magazine changes and other weapon manipulations.
The Umarex Glock 45 utilizes a gas storage built into the 22-shot magazine, which is refiled from an external tank. The 6mm airsoft BBs are pushed to a muzzle velocity of 90 m/s (295 fps) resulting in a muzzle energy of less than one Joule.
The MSRP of the new Umarex Glock 45 airsoft pistol is not specified on the company’s website. At the time of writing this article, the only place that I found these pistols available for preorder was a British airgun store called Land Warrior Airsoft, which offers these guns at a price point of £159.99 (roughly, $200).
Besides the newly introduced airsoft Glock 45, the Gas Airsoft line of Umarex pistols currently also includes the following Glock pistol replicas: G17 Gen3, G17 Gen4, G17 Gen5, G18C, G19 Gen3, G19 Gen4, G19X, and G42.
