POTD: The FN Minimi – With a Smile!

Another day, another Photo. TFB’s Photo Of The Day is relentless and keeps on delivering high-quality photos from the World of Firearms and Defense from all around the World. Today offers a Norwegian Guard soldier in the quick reaction force. As you can see, she carries the FN Minimi, a “mini Machine Gun” developed by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Herstal by Ernest Vervier.

The Minimi can be carried as in the top picture, but I think most prefer to have it on a mount, as shown below. At least it makes life a lot easier when you have to transport and carry ammunition.

TFB has covered the FN Minimis of Norway extensively before. It was in 2011 that the Norwegian Army decided to purchase around 1,900 Minimis.
