Black is fine, but FDE is betterer? The color of a firearm means a lot to some people, and if you happen to like both FDE and Heckler & Koch at the same time, here’s your chance to own a limited production run of the MR556A1 in FDE.
Exactly how limited this run is we don’t know at this time, but we hope to see them around soon.
In case you didn’t know, FDE stands for Flat Dark Earth.
The caliber is 5.56 x 45 mm, 16.5″ barrel, 6 lands & grooves, right twist, 1 in 7 in.
The rifle ships with a 10 or 20 round magazine and the total weight is 7.64 lbs.
The rifle can be found here: Limited Production FDE MR556A1. Unfortunately, I was not able to find a price for this beauty.
The handguard comes with Heckler & Koch’s own Modular Rail System, which I’m sure is going to generate a lot of comments as usual. Personally, I’d like the handguard to be a lot longer. Troy Defense has a pretty cool choice made in carbon fiber, which you can see here and here on an HK MR223.
TFB may return to this rifle in a future Photo Of The Day, as we have lots of wonderful pictures.
Here you can see it in a green forest, the rifle blends in really well. However, FDE doesn’t contain any green.
You can find more information about the extreme duty window magazine from Mission First Tactical by clicking here. The black magazine is of course the stock steel one from HK.
