POTD: French Commando Units in Operation Barkhane

POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, is TFB’s recurring articles where we go to great length trying to find the best pictures and stories out there. Today we’re looking at French Commando Units, during the night in April 2020, about 40km north of Gorom Gorom (meaning: “you sit down, (and) we’ll sit down“), in Burkina Faso.

As you can notice they are using SCAR rifles from FN Herstal, together with EOTech optics and magnifiers. These soldiers have been issued these SCAR rifles long before the French Army chose to purchase the SCAR-H PR as a DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) together with the Schmidt & Bender 1-8x PM II Dual CC and Night Vision and Thermal optics.

The  French Commandos of Barkhane led an operation which resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists, the destruction of vehicles (motorcycles & pickups) as well as the seizure of small arms.
