SB Tactical has announced that their new TF1913 AK brace that was introduced at SHOT Show 2020 is now shipping. If you are looking for a brace for a Krinkov pistol build, this should be a perfect product for you as it matches the aesthetics of the side folding triangle AK stock as much as it is possible. Let’s take a look at the specs and features of this new brace.
First and foremost, it’s important to know that this brace is not compatible with AK side folding rear trunnions. It’s a Picatinny rail mounted brace. The downside of such a design is that in order to attach it to your AK that does not have a rear Picatinny rail, you’ll have to find an adapter to convert your AK’s rear trunnion to a Picatinny rail. However, the advantage is that this brace is not strictly an AK-specific product and can be used with a variety of other weapons that have a Picatinny rail stock attachment system. I think it will look interesting with Ruger PC Charger or maybe even with certain AR-pattern guns? Tell us in the comments section what firearm do you think this brace will look good on besides the AKs.
The TF1913 brace folds to the left side of the receiver as the original triangle AK stock. The brace has an overall polymer construction with a steel locking mechanism and nylon straps. The hinge locks the brace both in extended and folded positions yet allows for quick pull-through deployment. The TF1913 brace is 9.5″ long, 1″ wide and weighs in at 10.9 oz. It is available in black color option only.
The SB Tactical TF1913 brace is listed on the manufacturer’s website at an MSRP of $199.99. As expected, the street price at retailers’ websites is much lower. For example, Brownells sells the T1913 brace for $159.99.
