The Impact 1000 is a combination of reliable performance combined with Vortex’s reputation for economical pricing. The Impact 1000 rangefinder runs off of a single CR2 battery with a total operational life of roughly 5,000 single range measurements.

The Rangefinder has both HSC and LOS Scan modes for either shooting situation.

The primary HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) mode provides key angle compensated range information that is required for most shooters. Why is angle compensated range important? Take for example a ranged value of 500 yards is a true shooting distance of 211 yards at a 65-degree angle. This would be even more drastic with that same 500 yards turning into 129 yards at 75 degrees. This is where an angle compensating rangefinder like the Vortex Impact 1000 Rangefinder comes in handy.
