POTD: Heckler & Koch MG5 and Concamo

Concamo have released a set of pictures that are just too cool not to share. That is the topic of our Photo Of The Day. Rumor has it that these pictures are taken on Heckler & Koch‘s private shooting and training area. This is the same place where we spotted the Heckler & Koch 417P, a special version being field tested by the Austrian Army.

Top, you can see the H&K MG5, a universal belt-fed 7.62x51mm machine gun (unfortunately without the belt here). There’s probably an HK VP9 in his belt, but it’s pretty hidden.

Below: How many soldiers can you spot?

Below: Sniper with his spotter.

I think there is a mixture of Heckler & Koch HK433 & HK416 in the picture below.

Concamo is short for Confusion Camouflage. UF Pro is one of the suppliers using the pattern.

Concamo – creating a confusion in the subconscious mind.

CONCAMO is a camouflage system based on perceptual psychology Its unsurpassed performance is based on naturally occurring shapes, which were catalogued and evaluated meticulously over the course of many years, and are now included in abstract forms in the CONCAMO pattern

Below: Another H&K in 7.62×51 mm, short barrel.

All of the photos are from Concamo, a highly effective camouflage pattern developed by Matthias Bürgin.

Heckler & Koch can be found here.

@Ranger Rick Sort of doubt that it's Austrians in the pics, since all the Concamo photos were taken at HK's firearms testing range. There is, however, the HK417P that was designed to an Austrian Army request for a 7.62mm NATO DMR, and has been described as a hybrid of the HK417, G27 and G28 rifles (the latter are HK417 and MR308/MR762 based).
