Springfield Armory has announced that the new SAINT Victor 308 pistol is now available for purchase. This pistol, along with several other new 2020 products was introduced at the beginning of the year. Despite the short-for-caliber 10.3″ barrel, this beast still packs a lot of punch thanks to the power of the .308 Winchester cartridge. According to Springfield Armory, “SAINT Victor Pistol in .308 delivers more than twice the energy on target than a 5.56 in a comparable barrel length“.
To direct the muzzle blast of the 10.3″ 308 away from the shooter, SAINT Victor 308 Pistol is equipped with the new SA 2-Piece Blast Diverter which is also advertised to optimize the gas system and ensure reliable operation of the mechanism. The DI gas system has a carbine length with a pinned low profile gas block.
The upper and lower receivers of SAINT Victor 308 Pistol are made of 7075-T6 aluminum forgings and have a Type III hard coat anodized finish. The lower receiver features an integral trigger guard and Accu-Tite tensioning system that allows virtually eliminating the receiver slack. The lower receiver is also equipped with a BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 pistol grip, QD endplate, single side safety selector, SA Carbine buffer tube with an H3 buffer, and SB Tactical SBA3 adjustable pistol brace. The flat face trigger has a nickel boron coating. The HPT (High Pressure Tested) and MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspected) bolt is made of 9130 steel and has a Melonite finish.
The CMV (Chrome Molybdenum Vanadium) barrels of these pistols have a 1:10 twist rate and feature Melonite finish both inside the bore and on the outside surface. Just like other Victor models, the 308 pistol comes with a free-floated M-LOK handguards with the company’s patented SA Locking Tabs designed to ensure a more rugged attachment of the accessories. The overall length of this pistol is 28.25″ – 30.5″ (with the brace fully collapsed and extended) and it weighs in at 8 lbs 6 oz.
