New Suppressor from Prinz Waffentechnik and CSC Arms

Prinz Waffentechnik and CSC Arms in Germany have presented a new signature damper called the CoB556. There is extremely little written about this new suppressor, but TFB hope to change that with this article.

Just remember that this is a European product, so there may be export restrictions depending on where you live. The CoB556 Suppressor is 159mm (6.3in) long with a diameter  of 44mm (1.73in). The weight is 499grams or about 1.1lbs.

It is designed (and measured) for use on military and civilian weapons in the calibers 5.56x45mm or .223 Remington. According to the companies the main advantage with this suppressor is the complete elimination of back blast, due to the unique interior airflow design. Unfortunately there is no picture of what it looks inside.

They also claim that there is no adjustment of the weapon needed and of course it prevents any increase in recoil. If you look at the dangerous end of the suppressor you will notice that it has an integral glass-breaking design.

The CoB556 is claimed to be maintenance-free. The companies also make a training version with identical dimensions. This can be used with PT, FX and UTM ammunition.

The sales price is approx €999, which is quite expensive for a suppressor on the European market. The intended customer group is arguably special forces, high tier police units or “private people with some money“.

    From the Product Description:

The biggest advantage of the CoB556 is the complete elimination of blast effects. The unique airow design reduces internal pressure and prevents back blasts of harmful hot gases that generally increase recoil and often cause malfunction of the weapon.
The CoB556 is directly attached to the weapon via its rear end thread without any adjustment of the weapon (e.g. gas port regulation).

CoB556 is equipped with a glassbreaking device on the front end.

The resilient, closed design does not require any maintenance and is reliable in all conditions, making it the perfect upgrade for you weapon.
