The whole grasshopper versus the ant fable can easily be applied to the current ammunition market. While the ant worked diligently to scoop up 5.56×45, .22LR and 9mm at affordable prices, the grasshopper kicked back and banked on an endless summer bounty. Well, when it comes to sourcing ammo, the nuclear winter has arrived. There are still pockets of availability scattered across the internet, but ammunition manufacturer SIG Sauer has made it easier to see which SIG Sauer ammunition is ready to buy and ship.

I’ve been doing my part, scooping up a moderate amount of their surplus 125gr 300BLK at $.75/round. My apologies, that particular load is currently out of stock. Keep an eye on SIG’s offerings in the link below.

This limited time only, military surplus SIG SAUER supersonic ammunition features a 125gr Sierra Match King Projectile for superior accuracy and minimal dispersion when suppressed. Consistent bullet weight retention with minimal velocity variations results from an optimized shell case metallurgy with staked premium primers. Rounds are precision loaded using state-of-the-art, electromechanical monitoring for geometric conformity.

Staked primers decrease the possibility of popping a primer out of the casing under high-pressure situations such as suppressed fire.

Its good ammo. I used to only shoot sig ball ammo because its pretty clean burning. Only recently stopped because fiocchi has proven similar for less money. And I use fiocchi for my bulk 55gr 223 so 1 brand to stock

    Except carry ammo.
    Winchester 124gr pdx1 +p
    Sig 124 vcrown

And federal fusion 62gr for the rifle
