In today’s Photo Of The Day, we travel back in time and stay in the present at the same time. We’re in Norway for the 75th anniversary celebration of the reconquest of Narvik during World War 2.

Above you can see Norwegian Army soldiers, anno 1940 and 2015. It’s an interesting picture in many ways. Just look at the differences (and similarities) in uniforms, armor, firearms, calibers, optics, bipods and night vision possibilities.

The smoothest action meets the best rifle caliber – 6.5×55 Krag for the win. Or are you more an FN Minimi 5,56 kind of person?

If you are more a FN Minimi person, then our adventure on The FN Minimis of Norway should interest you.

Norway still have a very strong tradition around shooting, just check The River Meet – Nordic IPSC Rifle Championships which took place in 2016, but will also take place again in 2020.

All photos by the great photographer Ole-Sverre Haugli. Norwegian Defense.

"Neutral" nations are all cunts and should be shamed for perpetuity.
