New Amber Filters for Night Vision Goggles from IEA

IEA Mil-Optics is a German company supplying premium solutions for Armies and professionals. For instance, they got the order from the German Army as they ordered Night Vision Quad-Eyes. For users of the PVS14 / NT920, Mini14 / NT940 or PVS-1431 and PVS-31 BNVD they have developed Amber filters, which is to ease the use of Night Vision for your eyes.

They have some sample pictures on the website, an example below:

Below you can find the description from IEA:

IEA Amber filter for NT940 and NT920

The tactical amber filter is placed on the eyepiece of the night vision device to minimize eye strain and radiation to the user’s face. This effect is not to be underestimated in the law enforcement and military use of NV devices. When using binocular NV devices, the operator could be detected over long distances even with the cheapest digital devices or even with the naked eye.

IEA´s amber filter is able to reduce this effect by 80-90%.The filter can be mounted on the eyepiece of the PVS14 / NT920, Mini14 / NT940 or PVS-1431 and PVS-31 BNVD within seconds and without tools, even with gloves.

The use of high quality glass provides a very high resistance against scratches and damage. In addition, this protects the eyepiece lens of the night vision device.

The filter fits the Night-Tronic NT940 and the NT920. If this didn’t interest you, check out some other news from IEA like the Transparent Heckler & Koch G36 or the Cutaway Heckler and Koch HK 416 D.

The price, per filter, is 49 or about $53. I haven’t tried them personally so I cannot judge, but perhaps it will make your Night Vision Goggles feel like brand new? What do you think of the idea?
