I don’t get pumped up about many new releases anymore, but when I received the shipping notification for the SIG Sauer 716i TREAD AR-10 rifle last night, I may have gotten a little giddy. You see, I’ve never owned a .308 AR-10, so if SIG’s 716i TREAD lives up to its listed specifications, quality and accuracy, I’ll be putting my money down on the table. We’ve reviewed several of the TREAD “budget” AR-15 rifles and pistols over the years, most recently Hop (TFBTV) and Rusty (TFB) have put the shorter models through their paces. But this is SIG’s first entry into the .308 DI TREAD lineup. I’ll get a review posted up ASAP.
