In recent months we’ve seen something of a resurgence of the 5.7x28mm round with a host of new platforms chambering it. Another manufacturer offering an affordable 5.7 platform is Excel Arms, out of Ontario, California, with their X-5.7 pistol and rifle.
The X-5.7 rifle and pistol feed from FN Five-Seven pistol magazines and use a standard blowback action. They have billet aluminium receivers and full-length Picatinny top rails and the rifles come with an M4-style adjustable stock.
Here’s what Excel Arms have to say about the X-Series of firearms:
The Centerfire X-Series line of firearms are CNC Machined from billet aluminum and feature tactical AR styling. In the unique design of both the pistol and the rifles we incorporated a picatinny rail on both top and bottom of the shroud for mounting various optics, accessories or forgrips. The Collapsible adjustable 6-position stock on the rifle offers a comfortable fit. The pistols come with a taped rear allowing the addition of tube style brace to be installed. The 5.7 X-Series models both utilize the very popular FN Five-seven pistol magazine. A rifle featureless package is available for restricted states.
