Suarez International has just released its Street Comp semi-permanent compensator for the Glock 43, 43X and 48. The Suarez Street Comp was specially redesigned for the Glock 43, 43X, and 48 series of pistols. Now you can have a compact compensator attached to your daily carry gun which can assist in follow up shots and reduce felt recoil.

The Street Comp is threaded with the standard 1/2×28 thread pitch. It features a 2 chamber design (1 vertical port and 2 side venting ports. It is designed to utilize the OEM recoil spring assembly.  The Street Comp on a Glock 43 or 43X makes the finished length of slide and comp the same as that for a Glock 48.  Thus customers adding a Street Comp can use any Glock 48 holster.

    The package includes:

    • Street Comp
    • 2 Set Screws with an Allen Wrench
    • Vial of Thread Locker

The idea behind the Suarez Street Comp is “Combat Carry.” It helps to optimize the pistol much in the same way that adding an RMR or a match grade barrel to the gun would. Advancements in several areas of gun design and practice have enabled carry pistols to allow the shooter to express their skills and the compensator is an additional item that can assist in that goal.

The unit installs to your Glock 43, 43X or 48 without the addition of any aftermarket springs or guide rods. Instead, the Street Comp attaches to the barrel via 1/2×28 threads and is secured by two set screws. Suarez International calls the addition of their compensator a “semi-permanent” modification as frequent removal and installation of the compensator can cause damage to both the barrel and comp.

The compensator is available now on the company’s website for $49.99. They have several other aftermarket Glock accessories as well as compensators for other pistols. Personally, I think the addition of a compensator could be beneficial, however, I am on the fence about it as it does tamper with the overall concealability of a gun. What are your thoughts?
