Gray Ops was created by the professional shooter David Preston. In 2015 he won the National Championship. The name behind the company came after his son, Gray Preston.
I have a few of their products for my PRS rifle(s), and I’ve been happy with the overall look, feel and functionality.
If you’re a Precision Rifle Series competitor – or similar – Gray Ops new product might be of interest. As long as you own a Spuhr scope mount that is – the product is called Spuhr Ring Turret Guards.
Here’s the description.
***Only compatible with Spuhr Rings***
PURPOSE
- Added protection for your scope turrets
- Prevents “rolling a turret” during barricade shooting causing accidental misses and dropped points
- Requested and designed by top level PRS shooters
FEATURES
- Machined from 6061 Aluminum and Hard Black Anodized
- Includes (1) Tall and (1) Short turret guard respectively for Elevation and Windage
- Includes mounting screw hardware
- Multiple mounting points to get the desired distance from each turret
- Lightweight, Low-profile, but also strong enough to “load” into
I don’t have (so far) a problem with rolling turrets, but perhaps I don’t shoot “hard” enough and also the turrets on all my scopes have a locking mechanism of some sort.
Regardless I am a potential customer because if there’s an interface why not use it with another cool accessory?
Anyone who ever lost points due to a rolled turret would likely have an interest in these guards.
The price is $135.00 and they should be shipping around the time this article goes live.
