Just this past week, North Haven Firefighters had to knock down a structure fire at the Mossberg headquarters. Located on 7 Grasso Ave in North Haven CT, the fire was first engaged at about 9:15 am. To date, no major Injuries have been reported.

The fire was contained to just a small portion of the manufacturing facility and the fire was extinguished just a little over an hour after arrival at about 10:30am.

Deputy Chief Martus also commented that the fire seems to have involved oil as an element of the fire. Mossberg regularly works with the North Haven Fire Department so the firefighters were already familiar with the building which houses an automatic fire alarm. The automatic fire alarm notified workers who were all evacuated from the building, thus preventing any potentially fatal or major injuries from the blaze.

A second alarm was called as well to bring additional staff to the building. This involved both Hamden and Wallingford firefighters who were called in order to cover the community needs while the New Haven fire department was occupied at the scene of the fire.

Mossberg officials had this to say regarding the blaze at their Headquarters:

“All employees were evacuated from the building and one employee was treated for a minor injury. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the multiple first responders, namely the North Haven Fire Department, for their quick response and actions to extinguish the fire and limit damage to the facility. The North Haven, CT facility has been closed for today, and we expect to return to normal operations tomorrow.”

Thankfully the reports seem to indicate that very little damage was done to the facility itself and even better that no major injuries have occurred. While Mossberg’s headquarters is located in North Haven, most of its modern-day manufacturing is done at its Eagle Pass, TX facility.
