Photo Of The Day – We visit the Austrian Jägerbattalion in their training area in the Seetaler Alps.

We see a shell from a mortar, just as it exits the muzzle.

We also get a good look at the Steyr AUG (Armee-Universal-Gewehr, which translates into universal army rifle), or Sturmgewehr 77 (StG 77) which is the Austrian Army designation. The Stg 77 was adopted in 1978.

The photos are taken over 1 900 meters above sea level, and the unit was using both their medium and heavy grenade launchers.
