Ceska Zbrojovka Plans IPO to Fund Further Expansion into the USA

Ceska Zbrojovka Group (CZG) is probably more known to our readers as just “CZ“. At least that is a lot easier for most of us to pronounce.

CZG is one of the leading European producers of firearms and in the first nine months of 2019 they had a net profit of CZK 575 million (about 25 million USD) out of a turnover of CZK 4.9 billion (about 215 million USD). This represents an increase of almost 12% over 2018 (turnover) and an almost 30% increase in operating profit.

CZG markets and sells its products mainly under the CZ (Česká Zbrojovka), CZ-USA, Dan Wesson, Brno Rifles and 4M Systems brands.

Last year, 48.7% of CZG’s revenues were generated in the US, 23.5% in the Czech Republic and 15.8% in the European Union (excluding the Czech Republic).

With those figures declared it isn’t difficult to understand the recent Press Release from the CZ Group:

CZG – Česká zbrojovka Group SE plans to extend its presence in the United States

Prague, January 2020 – CZG – Česká zbrojovka Group SE (the “Company” and together with its subsidiaries, “CZG”) has production facilities in the Czech Republic and the United States.

Last year, the Company announced its intention to build its new production and distribution facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, as part of its strategic plan to establish a substantial production presence in the United States and enter the military and law enforcement market there.

To secure financing for its growth plans, CZG is currently considering all funding alternatives, including a possible public offering and listing of its shares on the Prague Stock Exchange. No decision in this respect has been made.
