Okay. It looks a little odd. But I am actually super impressed by Tandemkross’s new chassis for the Ruger PCC, the Upriser. It adapts the Ruger PCC to take a standard AR-15 buffer tube and stock, along with an AR-15 grip. It also comes with a bunch of quality of life improvements to Ruger’s already excellent PCC.

The first thing you notice about the Tandemkross chassis is that the stock has a weird angle to it. The first thing you realize when you shoulder it is how natural and intuitive that angle makes getting a solid cheek-weld. It raises the carbine when you have it shouldered to the point where your cheek just naturally falls into place. While obviously, I would have to shoot it to get a real feel for how well the chassis does, I have a good feeling about it.

As I mentioned, the chassis also adapts the Ruger PCC to take AR-15 buffer tubes, stocks, and grips. It comes with a beveled and flared magazine well for easier reloads, and an extended magazine release. For us lefties, there is an optional left-side magazine release, although it isn’t extended. That having been said, while playing around with the gun I found that keeping your left hand on the grip, sliding your right hand back and hitting the right hand extended mag release was incredibly intuitive.

The new chassis is still completely compatible with the PCC’s takedown feature. As you can see in the above picture, you have a choice of two different charging handles. I personally found the knob shaped “Challenger” to be easier to use than the curved “Spartan”, but I know other members of TFB prefer the curved charging handle. The Upriser is compatible with all of Tandemkross’s other parts for the Ruger PCC. This includes the “Game Changer Pro” compensator, “Shadow” optic mount, or “Victory” trigger.

The Upriser will cost “less than $200”, with Tandemkross aiming for about a $179 price point, but that hasn’t been finalized. Tandemkross is hoping to launch in mid-February.
