Sccy firearms have unveiled a new compact handgun in their 2020 firearm line up. Its called the DVG-1 and will come in a few different variations and packages depending on what’s best for the individual. Let’s dive into what the DVG-1 will be when it comes out later this year.
Specs
The DVG-1 will be will a 9mm sub-compact gun with a 3.1-inch barrel that’s 1:16 twist right hand and has a 10+1 capacity. The gun will be available in either its regular form or drilled and tapped for a Crimson Trace CTS-1500 red dot optic. The Crimson Trace red dot is a nice addition to the DVG-1 series at the price they are going to be at. This option really gives individuals who don’t have the means to spend $1,000+ on an optics ready handgun a chance to conceal carry an affordable handgun with an optic.
When I picked up the DVG-1 the first big improvement I noticed was the trigger. Sccy has decided to go with a straight-faced trigger and a striker style trigger instead of their previous double action only triggers. When I dryfired the new DVG-1, I definitely could feel a big improvement in the overall trigger and reset. Along with the trigger, Sccy has given the DVG-1 a new grip texture that’s similar to a light stippling along with an H&M Black Nitride.
MSRP for the DVG-1 will be $289.99 for the regular version and $389.99 for the red dot variant. Sccy has said it will release the DVG in a black nitride finish as well as a stainless version at the beginning with more colors coming later. It sounds like they are hoping to have the DVG-1 hit stores sometime around May or June so be on the lookout for them. Let me know what you guys think of the Sccy DVG-1 in the comments below.
