Palmetto State Armory has always been known for their budget friendly AR-15 rifles and parts kits, they then moved onto AK-47s, then it was AK and AR hybrids. Well now they’ve debuted their own line of pistols. At SHOT Show 2020 they launched their PS9 Dagger pistol.

At first glance it looks like a Gen 3 Glock pistol with a custom frame and slide, but the PS9 was designed totally in house by Palmetto State Armory. Looks wise it definitely looks like a Glock, but when you pick it up if feels distinctly different. That’s due to the shape and feel of the pistol grip. The developers of the PS9 at Palmetto spent a lot of time and effort on the shape and texture of the grip, according to them they’ve perfected it. I say they’re pretty darn close.

What it does have similar to the Glock is that their trigger groups are compatible as well as the magazines. The PS9 will come shipped with a 15 round Magpul PMAG GL9TM, you can also use Glock mags already in your inventory. The PS9 uses stainless steel internal parts in the slide as well as all metal front and rear sights.

OK, so why another Glock-like pistol? The main selling point will be the price. The entry level models will start at $299. The higher end models (seen above) will still be under $400. But wait, there’s more. Palmetto is also including a lifetime warranty on their PS9 pistols. The PS9 seems to already be making waves online, especially at the very budget friendly starting point. If it has the reliability that Glock does I can see this becoming pretty popular.
