Aero Precision has been a long-time favorite AR-15 manufacturer of mine. Blending affordability with quality, Aero Precision has been the start of many AR builds for me. This year, we have all been blessed with the announcement of Aero Precision Pistol Caliber Carbines! Aero has decided to release its own line of pistol caliber carbine uppers and lowers that will be sold separately or as a completed firearm with 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP and 10mm variants for the upper receivers.

Lowers

The “stripped” lower receiver kits will cost $149.99 and contain several parts pre-installed that normally require special tooling or are just a pain to install by the uninitiated. An extended mag catch, last round bolt hold-open device and a cover plate will already come pre-installed. You will have to furnish your own trigger components, takedown pins, grip, and a safety selector. All variants of the lower receiver will be roughly the same price and will take Glock magazines.

Uppers

Aero will sell stripped uppers and completed uppers which will all have last round bolt hold open (LRBHO) functionality. There will also be complete configurations that have a barrel, handguard, muzzle device and upper receiver itself with your selection of barrel length.

Other Features

Aero also has its own version of an ambidextrous charging handle. The charging handle has been beefed up and the charging handle’s bar is more uniform for increased durability. The rear of the charging handle has a raised fence that will help mitigate gas blowback when shooting the gun in a suppressed configuration. Ballistic advantage will be furnishing the barrels for the new pistol caliber carbines.

The new Aero Precision pistol caliber carbines will be available in late quarter 1 or early in quarter 2 of 2020. The completed firearms will cost right around $1,000 in total.

Love me some Aero Precision! Glad to see them take a little time to put out a signature quality product instead of jumping on the pcc bandwagon as fast as possible, quality be damned!

Interesting. I've been wanting to build a .45acp AR for a home defense gun. I already have a high capacity Glock mag I use for fun in my G21. A couple more Kriss mags and I'd be set.
