Volquartsen is famous for making some pretty rad looking guns (at least in my opinion). At SHOT Show 2020 they’ve brought out the new Volquartsen Summit 17 WSM (Winchester Super Magnum) as well as two new Cerakote finishes for the Black Mamba rimfire pistol. The Black Mamba has received a facelift in the way of a new Cerakote finish in black camouflage and my personal favorite Arctic Camo Black.

The real star of the show this year, however, is Volquartsen’s Summit Rifle chambered in 17 WSM (Winchester Super Magnum).

Volquartsen has previously released the Summit rifle chambered in 17 Mach 2 and 22 LR. With the Summit 17 WSM, you will have the option to order either the Stainless Steel Fluted Barrel or a Lightweight THM Tension Wrapped Carbon Fiber Barrel. As with the other Summit Rifle Models, the 17 Winchester Super Magnum makes use of Volquartsen’s signature trigger group that has a super light 1.75 lb trigger pull.

Both barrel options have a 1/2×28 TPI threaded barrel, allowing you to mount a suppressor or other muzzle device if you wish. The gun makes use of a Ruger 6-round rotary magazine as well as the Volquartsen Laminated wood sporter stock.

Other laminate stocks will be available soon in Grey, Brown/Grey, and Brown styles. Volquartsen Firearms President, Scott Volquartsen commented:

As much fun as it was to start building the Summit 22 LR, in the back of our minds we knew it was only the beginning of what was possible from this straight-pull toggle bolt system. The toughest decision was not whether or not we would be offering more calibers, but which caliber we would do next.

Unlike the 22 LR and 17 Mach 2 Summit models, the Summit 17 WSM will only be available as a complete rifle and individual components will not be available as of writing.
