[SHOT 2020] Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW

Daniel Defense unveiled their new DDM4 PDW at SHOT 2020.  Chambered in 300 Blackout, the new PDW is built for out of the box reliability in two configurations.  On display at the Daniel Defense booth were both the pistol and SBR variants.

The Daniel Defense PDW comes with either a Maxim Defense CQB Pistol Brace or CQB Gen 7 Stock.  The Overall length on the PDW is only 20.75″ for the pistol and 21″ SBR.  This super-compact platform uses a  7″ 1:7 twist barrel that is designed to better stabilize subsonic and supersonic ammo.

    Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW Controls

Like the rest of the DDM4 lineup, the PDW utilizes both an oversized bolt release, and an ambidextrous fire control selector.  While both variants showcased Daniel Defense magazines, representatives from Daniel Defense indicated they would ship with a 300 Blackout specific PMAG.

Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW Linear Compensator

At the front of the PDW is a new linear compensator tucked underneath the 6″ MFR XL rail.  The MFR XL rail allows for additional space between the barrel and rail and is commonly found on the ISR family of rifles.

The PDW also features Daniel Defense’s new Grip-N-Rip Ambi charging handle.

Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW Charging Handle Gas Port

The Grip-N-Rip charging handle was specifically engineered for suppressed fire use. It features an anti-gas port that redirects gas flow away from the shooter’s face. This paired with the short/silencer ready nature of the DDM4 PDW should be a winning combination.  Both the pistol and SBR versions of the DDM4 PDW are available now with MSRP starting at $1,865.00.

More information on the DDM4 PDW and Daniel Defense’s rifles can be found on their website.  Big thank you to all the Daniel Defense reps for the help at SHOT 2020.
