North American Arms Inc is a producer of concealable mini-revolvers that are both extremely light and convenient to conceal. The guns they produce are designed to be small, light and concealable enough to be carried in almost any situation where printing would normally be an issue especially a mini-revolver over a traditionally sized small frame.

North American Arms aims to produce guns that can be used for recreation, collection, law enforcement, and personal protection. Mostly chambered in 22 short, 22, Magnum and the ubiquitous 22 Long Rifle, North American Arms’ revolvers are sure to please any firearms enthusiast that can appreciate an easy to conceal revolver. Despite their size, these mini-revolvers can handle pressures from some of the most powerful .22 magnum self-defense rounds.

The representatives at North American Arms were able to give me an exclusive look at some of their new plating and finishing goals for 2020. Ronnie Tanner who runs the Machine Shop told me that one of their major goals is to provide customers with durable revolvers that will stand the test of time through daily use.

Ronnie has set up an in-house plating rig and is currently working on engineering a high-polish finish and then further on down the road an anodizing coating. The high polish coating makes use of an electro-polishing process which is essentially the reverse of electroplating – taking material away from the workpiece instead of attracting material to it.

Jesse Hellam, who is working on this new in-house plating process with Ronnie, is seeking input from the market itself. Jesse was able to give me a sneak preview of some of their first successfully coated prototypes and has generously allowed me to share them with the TFB community.

If you have suggestions about colors, finishes, grip materials or any other aesthetic suggestions the guys at North American Arms are listening. Hopefully, by the end of 2020, we will be able to see some new high-polish and perhaps hard coat anodized mini-revolvers. Jesse is also asking for names for these yet to be dubbed mini-revolvers so if you have any ideas for names for these new pieces, leave them in the comments below.
