[SHOT 2020] The New Shadow Systems MR920
Following up on the successful release of the MR918 Shadow Systems has followed up with the new Shadow Systems MR920, featuring improvements that users of the MR918 asked for. By far the biggest improvement that will be featured is Shadow Systems‘ brand new patent-pending optic cut. This new optic cut will feature the strongest, deepest screw placement in the industry. This should improve contact with the slide and prevent any potential movement.
The mounting system will allow for an extremely low optic placement which enables most optics to attain a full co-witness with the iron sights.
Other improvements include an extended beavertail to avoid slide bite, aggressive slide serrations that assist in moving the slide rearward without causing holster draw issues, and a smoother, lighter trigger pull that still retains all the internal safeties l. This ensures an improved experience without compromising safety for the shooter.
No past designs have combined all three of these game-changing attributes. Shadow’s design accommodates Trijicon RMR and SRO, Holosun 507c and 508t, Leupold Deltapoint Pro, Vortex Viper, and TruGlo Tru-Tec. Shadow Systems’ new optic cut will likely accommodate additional brands and optics; testing for optic compatibility is still ongoing. The new system provides versatility without compromise and even exceeds the strength of past Shadow Systems mounts that had a dedicated Trijicon RMR footprint machined into the slide.
I’ve had a chance to handle the new MR920 at Industry Day at the Range and I think Shadow Systems has a great pistol to offer. The MR920 with its new beefed-up optics mount, improved trigger, and updated ergonomics make for a very shootable pistol that’s suitable for every day range trips and concealed carry applications.
The Combat and Elite models will be immediately available for pre-order and the first pistols will begin shipping in February 2020. Pricing will begin at $799.
