GEMTECH Suppressors has announced their newest silencer — the Modular Lunar 9.  The modular Lunar 9 allows end users to convert it from a full size 7″ configuration to a shorter 4.7″ configuration while remaining hearing safe.

There are a growing number of manufacturers introducing firearms with threaded barrels designed to support the attachment of a suppressor. Threaded barrel pistols and pistol caliber carbines have become popular options for use with suppressors, and we have designed a high quality, innovative, reliable, versatile suppressor that offers great sound reduction.

GEMTECH’s product page indicates the suppressor meters at 129dB in the long configuration, and 135dB in the short configuration when fired on a Gen 4 Glock 17.

The Lunar 9 is also rated 300 Blackout Subsonic.  Product details indicate the suppressor metered at 136dB in the long configuration on a standard 9″ barrelled 300BLK.

The silencer is primarily made out 7075 aluminum.  It features a 17-4 stainless steel blast baffle to increase durability.  Increased durability means the Lunar-9 is full auto rated, while allowing for full disassembly for cleaning. The Lunar-9 ships with a 1/2 x 28 L.I.D. pistol assembly.  It is also compatible with all legacy GEMTECH GM-9 mounting options.

In the long configuration the Lunar 9 weights 10 oz., and only 7oz. in the short configuration. The Lunar 9 has an MSRP of $616 and is available now.
