MDT from Canada have released a new magazine which should interest a lot of manual action shooters who are using magwells with the AICS pattern. The body is made from high strength polymer and features a clear window in the sides of the body to easily view loaded rounds. The Poly/Metal design features steel feed lips that are mated to the polymer body to ensure smooth, reliable feeding.
The metal feed lip assembly contains the latching boss, significantly increasing the durability compared to a polymer equivalent. The metal feed lips can also be easily adjusted or tuned to improve performance with other cartridges.
The only color available is black and the caliber is listed as .308 Win. (Short Action).
The price is $49.95 each.

The MDT Poly/Metal magazine is constructed with a polymer body fitted to a metal feedlip assembly. This arrangement combines the warmth and light-weight feel of a polymer magazine with the reliability and adjustability of a metal magazine.
In addition, the polymer body contains a clear polymer window on each side, allowing the user to confirm whether or not the magazine is fully loaded.

To me, it looks like a well designed quality magazine that I would like to evaluate. It reminds me a little of the Lancer magazines.
Of all issues I see competitors have (apart from not hitting their target) most are related to bad feeding from magazines, and it’s also one of the problems that takes the most time to rectify.
I am just wishing more companies could offer 12 round magazines for the AICS pattern, as some of the Precision Rifle Series matches I shoot need 12 rounds to finish. This way the shooter doesn’t have to reload during the course of fire.
