POTD: Green Beret Fires a Carl Gustaf Recoilless Rifle

Photo Of The Day – This is TFB’s last POTD in 2019, and the last POTD of this decade.

We are looking at a Green Beret as he fires an M3 MAAWS Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle during training in the Nevada Desert.

Below: Beware of the blast. Always check behind you before using the Carl Gustaf. Notice the CAT Tourniquet on the soldier’s backpack.

The Carl Gustaf is made by Saab Bofors Dynamics and Howa under license.

A Green Beret assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) fires his weapon while clearing a compound during a training event near Nellis Air Force Base.

A UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter returns to base after Green Berets assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) conduct a raid.

U.S. Special Forces utilized the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter for infiltration and exfiltration purposes while conducting training with U.S. Air Force Joint Terminal Attack Controllers.
