I admit it, these Norwegian Heckler & Koch 416 carrying soldiers is just an excuse to show a lof of excellent pictures of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II (Joint Strike Fighter). We hope you like them! Below you can see soldiers from Force Protection as they keep guard around a Norwegian F-35A from the Norwegian Air Force Base Rygge, Norway.
Before take-off.
The After Burner is an impressive thing.
According to Wikipedia the Pratt & Whitney F135 jet engine has demonstrated a maximum thrust of over 50,000 lbf (220 kN), making it the most powerful engine ever installed in a fighter aircraft as of 2010.
The F35-A is single-seat, single-engine, stealth, fifth-generation, multirole combat aircraft ordered by multiple NATO countries.
Norway has 7 F35s operational with a total of 52 planned.

The F-35A is actually armed with GAU-22/A, which is a lighter four-barrel version of the 25 mm GAU-12 Equalizer cannon.
