POTD: M1A2 Abrams Tanks in the Republic of Korea

In today’s Photo Of The Day, we find ourselves in South Korea. We’re looking at M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks doing their thing at the Rodriquez Live Fire Complex. The M1 Abrams tanks are with the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division to conduct gunnery qualification.

The Brigade is on a nine-month rotation to Korea in support of the 2nd Infantry Division.

Below: Spc. Seth Larsen, a tank crewman from Highland, Utah with 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, ground guides his tank.

Notice the projectile in the middle of the picture.
