During one of their latest live streams, Bill Geissele, the founder of Geissele Automatics, announced the launch of a new product line called Special Agent. As its name implies, the parts and accessories included in this line are exactly the ones used by the FBI. If you visit the company’s website, you’ll see that these products are now combined in a separate category which you can access by clicking on the newly added Special Agent button on the navigation bar.
As mentioned in the video, what gathering all the products that the FBI uses under a new category gives you, is it simply makes it easier to find them on the company’s website if you are specifically looking for these parts. Many of the products in this line are slightly different from their standard counterparts incorporating design changes requested by the FBI. For example, the Government Charging Handle has a little bit shorter latches with more rounded edges. Currently, the Geissele Special Agent product line includes three AR-15 parts: Government Charging Handle, 10″ Super Modular Rail MK4 Federal M-LOK, and Super Semi-Automatic (SSA) Trigger. Let’s take a look at each of these Special Agent line parts and see how the company describes them.
Government Charging Handle
The Government Charging Handle is made from aircraft grade 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Type-3 Hardcoat anodize and are available in Black or DDC. Just like all our charging handles, its precision machined at our state of the art facility in North Wales, PA for a perfect fit and smooth operation.
This is the same charging handle used to fulfill contracts for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), it features handles that are slightly smaller and more rounded than our Airborne Charging Handle, further reducing the chances of snagging on gear during high-energy and high-tension operations.
The MSRP of Government Charging Handle is $89.
10″ Super Modular Rail MK4 Federal M-LOK
This is the same rail used to fullfill contracts for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It’s strength, modularity and M-Lok compatibility gives users the capabilities needed to successfully complete the mission at hand.
These rails are purpose-built and feature integrated M1913 picatinny rail sections at the fore of the rail in the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. The Picatinny rail on the bottom of the rail, or the 6 o’clock position, is elongated in this version to more comfortably accommodate accessories. Maximum venting for heat dissipation also dramatically reduces the rails overall weight, while maintaining its same strong and rigid platform. The MK4 M-LOK rail features M-LOK slots at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions as well as the upper 45° quadrants. This allows the user to keep the weight on the rail system down, while keeping the modularity and versatility to attach accessories as necessary.
Bundled with a low-profile Geissele Super Gas Block (a $59 value), the Geissele Super Modular Federal Rail is not only feature packed, but it is also value packed.
These rails are made of 6061-T6 aluminum and are available in the following anodizing color options: Black, DDC (Desert Dirt Color), Gray and OD Green. The overall weight of this rail including all the mounting hardware is 11.6 oz. The company notes that in order to properly install it, you’ll also need to purchase a Geissele barrel nut wrench. The MSRP of these rails is $350.
Super Semi-Automatic (SSA) Trigger
The Geissele Super Semi-Automatic (SSA®) trigger is a semi-automatic only version of Geissele Automatics’s Super Select-Fire trigger. The SSA is a non-adjustable combat trigger that is a precision two-stage trigger and allows precise and accurate trigger control. The SSA’s two-stage design allows the trigger to be light enough for accurate and precise shots, but forgiving enough for CQB. The SSA is safety certified by Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. It is recommended for demanding applications such as Law Enforcement use, Close Quarters Battle (CQB) and mid-range carbine work.
Please note, our triggers are designed for mil-spec AR15/M4 carbine rifles. Our AR15 triggers are not compatible with the Sig MPX/MCX weapons or Pistol Caliber Carbine AR15/M4 variants. Using them in these platforms will void the warranty.
The Geissele Super Semi-Automatic (SSA®) trigger is a semi-automatic-only version of Geissele Automatics’s Super Select-Fire trigger.
The trigger pull weight of the SSA trigger is 4.25-4.75 lbs. The MSRP is $240.
