SILENCER SATURDAY #100: Suppressor Giveaway And Giving Thanks

    Suppressor Giveaway

    Suppressor Giveaway

Good morning everyone and welcome to the 100th edition of Silencer Saturday brought to you by Yankee Hill Machine. Last week we looked at the Dead Air Wolverine, a suppressor designed to meet the unique challenges of Kalashnikov style rifles. This week we are taking a break from review content to give you all a chance to enter to win our suppressor giveaway contest. YHM, SIG Sauer, Dead Air, Bootleg Inc and Silencer Shop have donated the awesome prizes you see below.

SILENCER SATURDAY #100: Suppressor Giveaway And Giving Thanks

In America, this is the week we pause to give thanks for everything and everyone that brings us joy. As such, I want to start by thank you, our Silencer Saturday fans. Spreading the gospel of silencers, short barrels, subsonic ammunition and the responsible use of firearms is a personal passion of mine. But by returning to read every weekend and supporting or sponsors and advertisers, you all have allowed me to turn a personal obsession into a living resource for shooters around the world. As we round the corner into a new decade, I’m considering bringing in other TFB Staff to host a Silencer Saturday from time to time. You all can benefit from differing perspectives and after two years straight, you may just be sick of hearing me talk.

I would also like to thank our sponsor Yankee Hill Machine. It’s not an easy decision to sponsor a series where competing manufacturers and products may receive praise. But YHM has never asked me to adjust content or shift views. This is due in part to their products: silencers that perform excellently at very reasonable prices. But the YHM team is also a down-to-earth and easy going group. We have the new Turbo K  and the Resonator R2 lined up for review in the next few weeks. If you didn’t know, Yankee Hill Machine also makes firearms and we’ll be featuring those here at TFB as well.

And there are countless of manufacturers and dealers who have supported my endeavors over the past week years. I could list them all, but I worry I’d leave someone out. From the small dealers to the large corporations, I appreciate your continued support.

    Suppressor Giveaways:

As a small way of saying thank you, the below companies have graciously donated silencers and dear for our suppressor giveaway. Good luck and make sure to read the rules.

Thank you for reading. We’ll see you next weekend for TFB’s Silencer Saturday.

    1. Yankee Hill Machine – NEW YHM Turbo K2

SILENCER SATURDAY #100: Suppressor Giveaway And Giving Thanks

SILENCER SATURDAY #100: Suppressor Giveaway And Giving Thanks

The new Turbo® K utilizes a tubeless design made from heat treated 17-4 stainless steel along with a heat treated 718 Inconel® blast baffle. The combination of these materials allows the suppressor to be full auto rated and designed for rigorous use. The blast chamber of the Turbo® K is threaded to the popular 1-3/8”-24 thread which allows it to utilize many available mounting options currently on the market. The notched rim and tri-port muzzle on the end cap make it stand out among the crowd.

The overall length measures 4.75” and weighs in at 8.83 oz. When using YHM’s Phantom® Q.D. adapter, the overall length is 5.5” and weights in at 11.7 oz. Having an average sound pressure level of 138dB on a 16” AR shooting 55 grain ammo, the Turbo® K is within the hearing safe threshold of 140 dB.

The Turbo® K is built with the same care, quality, and attention to detail that has defined the YHM® brand for generations. With an MSRP of $485 (which includes the Phantom® Q.D. adapter, 2 suppressor wrenches and Q.D. flash hider), the Turbo® K was created to supply the modern suppressor community with a full-featured suppressor at an affordable price.

The TURBO® K ships with a YHM-3102-28A mount, Phantom® Q.D. mount adapter, and 2 suppressor wrenches. It will fit all YHM-5M2 and YHM-3102 mounts.

SILENCER SATURDAY #100: Suppressor Giveaway And Giving Thanks

The SRD762 is an Inconel 718 direct thread suppressor. Inconel 718, a nickel alloy stainless steel, provides the highest level of durability, particularly with short-barreled hosts using supersonic ammunition. The 5/8″-24tpi threads match the vast majority of modern sporting rifles in .308/762/300BLK on the market today. The rear mount has wrench flats to torque the suppressor to the barrel. These wrench flats can be used as a location to “pin and weld” the suppressor to make a shorter barrel over 16″ in total length.ÌÁThe SRD762 is rated up to 300 Win Mag and any other rifle cartridges that are of equal or less projectile diameter, pressure and case capacity. Examples of this would be .204 Ruger, .223/5.56x45mm, 5.45x39mm, 7.62x39mm, 300BLK, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.8 Spc, .260 Remington and other cartridges.

    • SKU: SRD762
    • CALIBER: 300 Blk / 300 Win Mag / 7.62 NATO
    • WEIGHT (OZ): 15.5 oz (439 g)

    • OVERALL LENGTH (IN): 6.6 in (168 mm)
