POTD: Norwegian Majesty’s Ship in New York

Today we are looking at a pretty cool image of a Norwegian gunner, with braid, in front of the Statue of Liberty, as the ship HNoMS Thor Heyerdahl sails out from New York City.

Did you know that the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France?

Anyway, you can see the M2HB Heavy Machine Gun from FN Herstal, with what seems to be live .50 BMG ammunition.

Below: The Norwegian Navy girl has an HK416 on the back. M2HB to the right.

Below: Even a large ship looks small against New York as a background. The ship is 134 meters long. (439.63 ft)

The ship looks more suitable for sea travel than the Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tikis.

Note that the HK416N is unloaded. Well, at least it doesn’t have a magazine inserted.
