Time for another Photo Of The Day. This time we’re in Germany for some training with their soldiers.
We take a closer look at a Heckler & Koch that we don’t see too often, namely the HK69A1 or the Bundeswehr designation “AG40 A1“.
In German, the grenade launcher is auto-translated into a “grenade pistol“, which actually makes a lot of sense considering what it looks like and what it does. It pistols grenades.
The HK69A1 Grenade Launcher has a break-down action, single-action trigger and uses 40×46mm grenades.
It is typically carried in a thigh holster. The sights are good for 50 to 350 m adjustments.
Below: Note the grenade mid-air.

Heckler & Koch G36s. Note the grenade launcher in the sling.
I think this is a Marder, a German infantry fighting vehicle, with a 20 mm autocannon from Rheinmetall.
