HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? True Grit or Rhinestone Cowboy?

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? True Grit or Rhinestone Cowboy?

Welcome everyone to the 30th (wow 30 already!) edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many fine series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the essential question – is this Gat a sweet deal or does it only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you the readers, found the tacticool 870 to be overwhelmingly Fudd Crap – shocker.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? “‘Hell Yeah, Brother’ or ‘I Live with my Mother’” – Poll Results

This was a landslide defeat for this tacked out 870, and I don’t think we’ve ever seen results this bad.  At this time the overly tactical 1 of 1 custom 870 remains for sale on GunBroker.  The seller has lowered the price to $550, and maybe that’ll be low enough for someone to give it a new home.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we have a cowboy themed F-1 Firearms AR-15. As is tradition, this country themed gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker with a starting bid of $3,480.00.

Someone didn’t read the cowboy action rules – Matt M.

Bubba went to the machine shop, and something died – Mike R.

Gunbroker rodeo: See if you can shoulder this gun for more than 8 seconds without getting bucked by overwhelming shame – James Reeves

Ah, finally a rifle fit for Dallas Cowboys fans – Luke C.

Whoever made this gun should ride into the sunset before it happens again – Hop

Unexplained Cattle mutilations are up this year, apparently – Pete

By the current cattle market prices, a rancher would have to sell about 26 cows to buy this BS themed rifle.  – Doug E.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? True Grit or Rhinestone Cowboy?

In the era of modern AR-15s there’s a trend of both trying to save weight while standing out. This takes both of those ideas to the absolute extreme.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? True Grit or Rhinestone Cowboy?

I’m not sure what kind of cowboy needs a race gun, but apparently they do exist. Either way I hope you brought your own friends to the range, because neighboring shooters might not take too kindly to the blast from that muzzle brake.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? True Grit or Rhinestone Cowboy?

In all honesty, I really don’t understand the appeal of skeletonized firearms.  Maybe I’ve just watched too many mud testing videos over the years.  Either way, it appears there’s a market for these.  Who knows, maybe I’ll shoot one one day and change my mind.  Until then I’m going to keep my dust cover closed.
