POTD: Project Greyfin – Australia’s Special Forces

Today we take a look at some Australia’s Special Forces – or is it them looking at you?

A fitting topic for our Picture Of The Day, but if their unit is getting 335 million USD over the next four years they’re totally worth it!

Our friends over at Overt Defense have more information about the background of Project Greyfin here: Big Budget Increase for Aussie Special Operations.

Unfortunately, we do not yet know the details of what kind of equipment they are going to get but feel confident that TFB and Overt Defense are going to do their best to find out and let you know.

The upgrades have been exemplified as, but not limited to, “communications, body armour, weapons, medical search and rescue, as well as diving, parachuting, roping and climbing systems.”

The Australian SF are currently using the M4 Carbine, called M4A5, or the Heckler & Koch HK416. (Source)

POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, is TFB’s recurring articles where we go to great length trying to find the best pictures out there.
